PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Build the skills to support recovery, resilience and change.

Oxford College’s 92-week Addictions and Mental Health postgraduate diploma program builds on your previous education and prepares you to support people experiencing addiction, mental health challenges and other complex social needs.

You’ll develop practical knowledge in counselling, crisis intervention, substance and behavioural addictions, therapeutic approaches and group counselling. The curriculum also covers the Twelve Core Functions used in addiction counselling, including screening, assessment, treatment planning, case management, referral and client education.

Most coursework can be completed online through live, instructor-led classes. Your training also includes an 8-hour in-person CPR course and concludes with a 12-week, 400-hour field placement where you can apply your skills in a professional setting.
