WHAT IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE
One year, from the inside.
EARLY
The first stretch is regulation and vocabulary — good clinical practice, ICH guidelines, ethics boards, how a protocol is built and why every line of it is there. It is dense reading, done at home, and most people fit it around a job.
MIDDLE
Then it becomes the actual daily work. Case report forms, source verification, queries, monitoring visits, safety reporting — practised on real study documents until the paperwork stops looking like a foreign language.
LATER
You go into a placement that Oxford arranges for you, at a site or a sponsor office. Somewhere in there it stops feeling like school. You finish with a year of the work on paper and someone who can vouch for you.
YOU'LL BE IN GOOD COMPANY
Nobody in the room got there by accident.
