Oxford College’s 65-week Advanced Database Administration diploma program teaches you to manage, secure and optimize the database systems businesses use to store critical information. You’ll learn to design database environments, handle large data sets and maintain systems that support operations such as financial transactions, customer records, inventory systems and online services.
Through hands-on training, you’ll write and optimize SQL queries, monitor performance and implement backup and recovery strategies. You’ll also explore modern database environments, including distributed systems and automation practices, helping you build reliable and scalable data infrastructure.
Certification preparation
Our program prepares you to pursue the Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator Associate and Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional certifications, helping you validate your skills and strengthen your credentials as you begin your career in database administration.
Key program benefits
You’ll receive training in database architecture, advanced SQL techniques and PL/SQL development, along with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and SQL Profiler to manage performance and troubleshoot issues. You’ll also be introduced to non-relational databases and use Python and shell scripting to automate routine database administration tasks.
Capstone project
You’ll complete the program with a hands-on capstone project where you design and administer an enterprise-level database solution based on a real-world scenario. You’ll apply your skills in performance, security, backup and monitoring, and present your work to demonstrate professional-level competency.
