Our program prepares you to write the Examination for Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technicians with the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (OSMT), which will validate that you have attained the OSMT’s level of standards and training.

We provide the clinical skills and the hands-on training you need to become an important member of the laboratory team. These skills include conducting routine medical laboratory tests, setting up, cleaning and maintaining equipment, logging patient samples and performing quality assurance. You will also learn to prepare specimens for testing, collect and ship samples, provide information to patients and maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Upon graduation, you will be prepared to pursue career opportunities in hospitals, private clinics, research facilities and much more.
